Luke 19:5

Zacchaeus1-Luke19_5…And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw Him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” Luke 19:5

In this passage of scripture we learn about God’s Love for 1 individual.  In the Parable Of The Lost Sheep Jesus said:

“The Son Of Man has come to save that which was lost.  What do you think?  If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?  And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.”

The old cliche is true: If you were the only human on earth, Jesus would have endured the Cross for you!

The 4 verses before this seem to indicate that Zacchaeus was seeking after Jesus, but we learn in verse 5 that Jesus was seeking after Zacchaeus!

Nothing has changed.  God is still seeking individuals.  He Loves each person and “is not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance.”

August/September Update

…”But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

This is a strong and loving word from our Lord.  The 5 verses before this statement come from those who SAY they will follow Jesus, but they are not ready to let go.  This is easier said then done, but it is so important to be obedient to the voice of our Lord.

These past months have been life changing for our family.  We said our goodbyes to our family back in the states, packed up, and journeyed across the world to a new work in Asia.  Arriving in a foreign land can be a difficult task, but we sense the hand of God upon us, and we thank Him for all He is doing in our lives.  We are slowing settling in and adapting to this new chapter in our lives, thank you for your prayers!

-Sharing the Good News (we’ve been able to share the Good News with some natives) Pray for open hearts.
-Language studies- Pray for our language studies, the language here is very difficult, but we know that God can supernaturally give us the ability to learn, write, and speak it.
-Recording and translations.  We are prayerfully planning the best way to record and translate the scriptures for an unreached people group in our region.
-Adaption:  Please pray for our adaption.  We, along with our children have been homesick.  Please pray for God’s comfort.
-Our senior missionaries:  We are supporting and being mentored by a beautiful family here.  Our primary reason of being here is to support this family.
-House meetings.  We are meeting underground with natives weekdays and sundays for worship.
-Vision:  Pray for continued vision.

Pastor Jeff and our home church of ccdowney praying and sending us.
We dedicated Abbey and Liam the day before our departure.
